Ballistic Soft Panels

At PANOPLON, you will find Soft Armor Panels for compatible Plate Carriers and ballistic protection systems, with key options from Greek manufacturer ANORAK. The range includes 25 × 30 cm soft ballistic panels as well as Side Panels designed to extend the protected area of the torso.
Depending on the specific model and its tested configuration, Soft Armor Panels may be used as standalone soft ballistic inserts or in combination with ICW (In Conjunction With) Hard Armor Plates. In an ICW configuration, the Soft Armor forms part of the tested protective system and is required for the hard plate to achieve its stated ballistic performance.
Particular attention should be paid to coverage. A 25 × 30 cm Soft Armor Panel installed in a Plate Carrier protects a considerably smaller area of the torso than a correctly sized Soft Body Armor vest providing front, rear and side coverage. For this reason, at PANOPLON we do not consider a pair of 25 × 30 cm Soft Panels a direct replacement for a full Soft Body Armor system in applications where extensive ballistic coverage is required.
When a Plate Carrier is selected as the protective platform, the complete system should be considered: Hard Armor Plates, Soft Armor where required and, depending on the application and risk assessment, Side Panels for additional lateral coverage. The objective is not simply to place ballistic material inside a carrier, but to achieve an appropriate balance between protection level, coverage, weight, mobility and ergonomics.
Selected ANORAK Soft Armor solutions also provide protection against additional threats such as blades and sharp-edged instruments according to the testing and specifications of the individual model. Such protection should always be evaluated according to the applicable test standard and documented laboratory results.
At PANOPLON, we approach Soft Armor as part of a complete ballistic protection system. We evaluate the protection level and applicable standard, laboratory testing, actual coverage area, SA or ICW compatibility, weight, ergonomics and the way each panel integrates with the rest of the protective equipment.
